Background and Education
Pastor David Webb has pastored Central Baptist Church since January, 1998. Previously he pastored two other churches in Indiana. He was born and raised in Kokomo, Indiana in a wonderful Christian home, and came to know Christ at an early age. Many were the magnificent experiences God gave him as he grew up attending Bible Baptist Church of Kokomo. In a missionary conference in 1968, he gave his life to full-time Christian service.
Pastor Webb has both Bible College and Seminary degrees. He graduated from Grace Theological Seminary in 1982 with a Th.M. (Master of Theology). In addition, he reads constantly and attends various seminars and conferences to keep informed and encouraged in the ongoing work God has called him to do. David is also a certified member of the National Association of Nouthetic Counselors. His first church, Inland Manor Baptist Church, ordained him in 1987.
Philosophy of Preaching
The inerrancy and sufficiency of the Word of God are the foundation stones of his ministry. Psalm 119 has profoundly influenced his philosophy of preaching and teaching. The Scriptures are necessary for salvation (Romans 10:17), and they are the essential tool for growth and change in a believer’s life (John 17:17). The goal of preaching is the exaltation of Jesus Christ.
As a result, in nearly all the services at Central Baptist Church, the Word of God is proclaimed in a way so that listeners understand what a passage says, what it means to them, and what they should do about what they have just heard. Some refer to this kind of preaching as exegetical preaching, or expository preaching.
Family

David and his wife Kathy have four children. Jennifer has graduated from college and is active in ministry. Bethany, Nathaniel and David, II, are still at home and joyfully involved in serving Christ in the community and in the church. The picture above left is of Kathy and David. The second photo is of David (right) after hiking Pike's Peak with his brother-in-law, GARBC chaplain Dan Taylor. The third picture is of one of his dream cars, a C6 Corvette.
Hobbies and Interests
Pastor Webb’s hobbies include running, reading, computers, and watching baseball. He is a lifetime New York Yankee fan (“first impressions last a lifetime”), much to the dismay of many in his congregation. He will discuss White Sox, Cubs, and Cardinals baseball with his church family in order to keep the peace. In addition, he also dreams of owning a sports car (a red Corvette convertible or an MKI MR2). His favorite contemporary Christian musician is Steven Curtis Chapman. Charles Haddon Spurgeon is a favorite among his great heroes of the Faith.
