Children's Church
Diana Heavner
When and who
If you’re Age 4 through 3rd Grade, come on in! We begin at 11:00 a.m. - Sharp!
Description of Children’s Church
Our morning hour is jam-packed with songs, Bible verse memorization, puppets, missionary stories, life lessons, Bible stories and review games – not to mention a Best Behaved Award Game at the end of the hour. We use a variety of methods to teach your children the “theme” of the day so that they will remember it throughout the entire week! Currently, we are learning Psalm 139:14, “I will praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made.” We are teaching the kids that God loves them; that He made them special; and that He made them for a specific purpose!
Objectives
Our objectives for Children’s Church are three-fold:
- Evangelism - It is our prayer that every child will come to know Jesus Christ as their personal Savior. John 3:16
- Training – We are here to train these children to be like Christ and, hopefully, to live a life pleasing to Him. Proverbs 22:6
- Worship – Through song, verse memorization, and Bible reading, our children can learn to worship Christ at their young age. Proverbs 20:11
Staff
Children’s Church is staffed with godly teachers and workers who have a heart for kids and who have been trained according to Central’s Child Protection Policy. Typically, we have three to four adults working in Children’s Church on any given Sunday.
Rules
We have only two rules: 1). Do not talk while the teacher is talking; and 2). Keep your hands to yourself! These rules are necessary to provide your children with an environment conducive to learning.
Director
Diana Heavner was saved and baptized as a young girl and was reared in a Christian home. She has worked with children for over 20 years, has been formally educated in Christian children’s ministry, and definitely has a heart for kids. Diana has done her best to live a godly life, and she says that by God’s grace she would like to continue working with kids until He calls her home.
