Good News for You (How you can become a Christian)
The Bad News:
God wants you to understand the truth about your sin. While you may not sense it, while you might be totally unaware of it, you have sinned against a holy God in ways you can’t possibly understand. The Bible tells us that our hearts (the inner person that no one can see except God and you) is deceitful and can’t even understand the depths of its own deceitfulness. Your heart has deceived you (Jeremiah 17:9). Furthermore, you have been blinded to truth by an external force, the god of this age (2 Corinthians 4:4).
Your condition has made you sinful and hopeless (Romans 3:10-12; Ephesians 2:1). As a result, you are not neutral, but an enemy of God, (Colossians 1:21).
The final result of this condition is that when you die, you will spend an eternity in hell, a place where a just and righteous God sends his enemies (Revelation 20: 14, 15).
The Good News:
Jesus Christ, the sinless son of God, died on a cross 2000 years ago to be a bearer of the sins of the world (2 Corinthians 5:21). Your problem is your sin, and Jesus Christ’s sacrifice on the cross is the answer. You must turn from your sin (Acts 20:21). To turn from your sin means that you change your mind about your sin, realizing that it is your sin that is the problem that has made you an enemy of God(1 Thess 1:9).
You must turn from your sin to an alternative lifestyle of faith in the savior of the world, Jesus Christ (Acts 20:21; John 3:16; 14:6).
When you place your faith in Jesus Christ to save you from your sin, you become a new creation in Jesus Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17). You will not become perfect once you trust Christ, but you will become different when you sincerely trust Him.
We invite you and urge you to now acknowledge your sin, and to place your faith in the resurrected savior Jesus Christ.
If you place your faith in Jesus Christ, one of the first things you should do is tell someone about your decision. Then, begin to attend a Bible-believing church where you can grow strong in your Christian faith. If you live in Northwest Indiana, please let us know about your decision and consider making Central Baptist Church your new church home.
