Directions to Central Baptist Church

From I-94, exit SR 249 (Crisman Road) and go south about four miles. Crisman becomes Willowcreek and Willowcreek ends at CR 700 N. Go right on CR 700 N 1 mile to the church.

From the toll road (I-80,90),take exit 23 and go south on Willowcreek three miles, turn right on CR 700 N and go one mile west on 700 N.

From US 6/Ridge Road, turn south on Willowcreek in Portage (Wallgreens), go one mile, then turn right/west on 700 N and drive one mile to church.

From Valparaiso, take SR 130 to 4-way stop at County Line Road, go north one mile to 700 N, turn right (east) and drive ¾ mile to the church.

If you are coming North on I-65, exit the Lake Station/Ridge Road Exit. Go east for 4.1 miles, and turn South (right) at the stoplight at County Line Road. Go south one mile on County Line, then turn left on 700 North. Central is ¾ mile east on 700 N.

Our Facility

Central Baptist Church is located in a semi-rural area on 14 acres at 704 W. 700 North just south of Portage in unincorporated Portage Township. While the church has a Hobart mail address, it is located in Porter County. The ministry was relocated to its present site from Gary, Indiana in 1975.

The church was built in several phases between 1975 and 1983. With approximately 30,815 square feet under one roof, the one story building comprises an all-purpose gym, classrooms, pastoral staff offices, church office, library, kitchen, educational resource center, nurseries and sanctuary. A security system was installed in 2004.

The parsonage, which is located on the church grounds, is a two story, remodeled farm house of 1920 vintage. There is also a bus barn, a wooded picnic area and two ball diamonds.
